Santa Barbara is protected by the Channel Islands, a chain of islands off the coast, the largest of which is Santa Cruz island.  We took Lia’s sister Robyn there for her birthday in May of this year.  It will be the only trip there, since Lia and I were both seasick on the way there.  Quite lovely, once we reached land, and were able to walk around.
