website for a steve on the go

I (Steve) am at ISI’s National Conference, both because it’s good for me to get more training, and also as part of our discernment in future ministry.  We had some serious questions about ISI which affected our ability to stay with them long-term.

After 5 days of being there, I came away fairly impressed.  Each meal, I tried to meet with someone who could explain more of ISI to me.  (This may seem odd to some, but when you’re in campus ministry, your time is on campus more than at the Home Office.)

The quality of the conference was really good (and I hate a boring meeting!).  And it seems that all my concerns are linked to a previous president of ISI who was growing the Home Office faster than the campus ministry.  That time has passed, and our current President has been restoring things to their rightful balance.  I’m pleased to hear that things are moving in the right direction, where they’re not already fixed.

We’re still not sure exactly where we’re being led, but it’s really good to know that we fit well with one of the best international student ministries in the country.
