Today I heard that a friend of mine from Texas had been killed in North Africa.  Several men ( from Al Qaeda) had attempted to kidnap him, couldn’t, and shot him.

 

He’s survived by a wife and four kids.  I feel sick, knowing that they have to grow up without a father, and my prayers have been for them to love God and serve him like their dad did.

 

I became friends with Chris while living in the same dorm as him and his family.  He was a great husband and father, and a relentless tease to those he was friends with.  He once left a phone message on my answering machine from “Ross Perot,” claiming that support was incoming, and to call him back at 1800-ROSS-PEROT.  He could hardly keep from laughing as he left it.

 

You’re already with Jesus, enjoying the best of everything, but here’s to you Chris, and may we all attain the spiritual stature you had, and meet you again!
